Toyota's global long-term vision is to deliver better, safer cars and mobility solutions, respecting the environment and enriching the communities in which we work and live.

- Max Yasuda, 2013 President’s Message

The purpose of the TED program is to encourage all Toyota dealers to practice environmental excellence in their facility operations with Toyota’s role being to ensure dealers such as Clintons Toyota have a clear path to achieve excellence.

Cliontons Toyota will strive to sustain its TED status and achieve this honour on a yearly basis.

Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Clintons Toyota and Toyota Australia look for opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Toyota uses natural gas and electricity at its production site at Altona and at non production sites around Australia. The company monitors and reports on its energy use and greenhouse, continually looking for improvement opportunities.

Resource Usage

Clintons Toyota and Toyota Australia will continue to focus on reducing waste and making the best use of resources. These include raw materials used in the vehicle manufacturing process, and water and paper used across the company. Wastes include both production and non production general waste, prescribed waste and packaging waste.

Contributing to a Low Carbon Society

Toyota Australia will develop lower emissions vehicles and work with Governments to develop appropriate standards and measures regarding vehicle emissions and pollutants.

In 2011 a Carbon Working Group was established to understand and manage the impacts of the clean energy future legislation and develop a model to ensure the financial implications of the carbon prices are considered in strategic and operational planning.

Environmental Management

Clintons Toyota actively monitor and measure the issue of paper usage, paper wastage and environmental management alternatives to decrease the impact of our business on our environment. Approximately four years ago, Clintons Toyota changed all their paper orders from standardised paper brands to Media Form – EcoSmart Premium Paper.

EcoSmart Premium Paper is 10% environmentally responsible and is produced using processes conforming to ISO1 4001 or EMAS Environmental Management Systems. According to Media Form (2015), the paper is 100% chlorine free bleached and designed and made suitable for the Australian Environment.

On the 22nd May 2015, Clintons Toyota formed a partnership with a local printing supplier ‘Tony Wolf & Sons Printing’ as they are a Bronze Accredited Symmetry Sustainable Business, and get their paper from PEFC, FSC or EMAS certified manufacturers. Tony Wolf and Sons Printing were able to guarantee all printing carried out is done using organic toners and there are a range of eco-friendly printing options available.

Tony Wolf Printers were selected as a partner for Clintons Toyota by their dedication to the environment and commitment to making a difference to their carbon footprint – adopting the trade mark “Your printing shouldn’t cost the earth”. The improved printing presses that Tony Wolf & Sons uses ensures that only eco-friendly toners are used on all materials for Clintons Toyota.

Currently, Clintons Toyota use Tony Wolf & Sons for the printing of their marketing material on EcoStar Silk 100% Recycled Paper and all pull up banners are made using Bamboo X Frames and Yupo print with organic toners.

Clintons Toyota are currently in discussions with Tony Wolf and Sons how to further implement eco-friendly materials throughout their supplies and plan to implement further measures in early 2016.
